NYDJ Women's Petite Alina High-Rise Stretch Legging Jeans - Slimming & Comfortable for Work, Travel & Casual Wear

I am giving these an average of four stars. I would give five stars for the color, fabric and shape of these jeans. I would give three stars for the fit. I consistently wear a size 8, but these fit more like a 6. I would certainly not go down a size, according to the usual advise for NYDJ jeans. I first bought these same jeans in a size 8 regular at a department store. They fit nicely, but I did not want to pay to have them hemmed, so I returned them. When I found them on Amazon in petite, I bought them. The 8P feels much more snug than the the 8 regular. I decided to keep them anyway because I bought them at a great sale price. I wore them all day today with a long sweater and despite the fact that they are snug, I have not been uncomfortable. I believe the sizing is becoming somewhat inconsistent with NYDJ jeans, even within the same style.These were not comfortable at first, but I think the legging style just takes a little while to get comfortable. After wearings and washings, they are quite nice now, and I am happy with them. I'd buy another in a heartbeat, but this brand seems to have made too small a batch for sale, and then discontinued making them, which is very frustrating for the consumer. I've encountered this with others of this brand and style, and I think it is a terrible way to do business. They started out at a very good price. Then the price kept going up and up, and now they are unavailable, and apparently won't come available again, any time soon. Who is responsible for this debacle? It seems to me a company ought to make enough of a style and product to serve the buying public, and not run out of their goods this way.I am very happy with this pair of jeans. They fit well, and the color red is just right. I am very happy with my purchase.The super sculpting Alina legging fit well for the first few hours then begin to slip downward over the hips. Also they begin to pucker over the lateral lower hips after one wash creating a bulge of fabric around the puckers. I think this is a giving out of the stretch fabric that is supposed to hold the stomach in. I bought the same jeans without the super sculpting, and these fit better and did not have this problem. I wish the colored jeans came in a true denim fabric that would be more rugged in appearance and wear.I'm 5'2" (when I stand up straight!) and somewhere between 115-120lbs. The 2 petite fit perfectly! NYDJ have lots of stretch. I could have ordered a 0 for a more jegging style fit but that was not the look I was going for with these. I love that these jeans cover the muffin top and hit at or just below my ankle.The hip and front were baggy, looked too big in that area, length hit top of foot.I am 5'1" and I hem it about 1-1/2". It's always a challenge to find the best denim for a petite. The Alina Convertible Skinny ankle OP seem to fit me the best. I wish it weren't so expensive.These pants are comfortable and thick enough to hide any lumps and bumps you may have. They were a bit larger in the hips than my typical skinny jeans, and stretch slightly as they are worn, but tighten back up with washing. The color is great. They are high waisted (they come up to my belly button) and flatter the body. They fit great on my waist and bum, which is difficult for me to find (I have a small waist and larger hips). I recommend these jeans to woman who have curves.I have to wear a belt to keep them They are a lovely red.Love them
