I have a lot to say about these "jeans" so my review is long. Sorry for the long-windedness, but I think this information will be helpful to others who might be considering this purchase. I purchased them in 2 colors and I intend to order more of them, so I'll probably add to this review as the other colors arrive.HERE IS MY REVIEW:These leggings are awesome - cute and well-fitting for my hard-to-fit body. I've literally spent years looking for something this comfortable and stylish.I purchased them in both Medium Wash and Black and the review below is for the Medium Wash ONLY. You should know that the two different colors have some significant differences, so be aware that if you order different colors you are going to get a somewhat different product. The pattern and fit of the Medium Wash and the Black are the same and I like them both. But the fabric is really different. The Medium Wash is a true, super-stretchy denim. The black does not look like denim but appears to be a super-stretchy lightweight, denim-like knit. The Medium wash is better quality and appears to have been sewn and finished with care. The Black appears to have been sewn and finished in a hurry. I'm keeping them both and I like them both, but be aware that this is a mixed bag and every time you order, you could end up with something different than what others have received when ordering the same product.WRAP-RAGE WARNING! I don't know what sadist packaged these items but it was an "adventure" getting both pairs of pants dislodged from the packaging. It was like a Chinese puzzle, where the fabric of the pants was so deeply intertwined with the packaging that I thought I might have to destroy the pants in order to get them out of the package. I have truly never, ever seen anything like it! So work up your patience. If you are careful and alert, it can be done - but IT IS NOT EASY TO EXTRACT THESE PANTS FROM THE PACKAGING. When you get yours, you'll know what I mean. It was literally insane.HERE IS MY REVIEW FOR THE MEDIUM WASH COLOR:1. My only criticism right out of the package is that they have a toxic dye smell. I'm hoping this will wash out because if it doesn't, I'm gonna be very disappointed. I want to keep these so much, but the fumes are making my eyes and nose burn, skin itch, and giving me a slight headache. I used to work in the textile industry and believe me, some of those dyes are monsters when it comes to toxicity. I know from experience that this usually washes out and things are fine, but if it doesn't improve, I'll send them back and update my favorable review. (The black pants didn't have this terrible smell.)2. They run ever so SLIGHTLY SMALL. I know that smaller clothing is common on Amazon, so I ordered a size up - my normal size is 2X and I like my clothes to fit slightly loose. The 3X is PERFECT FOR MY COMFORT ZONE. If you like your leggings to be skin-tight, then order true-to-size. (The black pants I ordered did not run small, so the 3X is slightly looser on my body. I could probably have used the 2X in the black.)3. High Rise. I absolutely HATE those low-rise pants that cause the tummy to blob over the waistband, show butt-cleavage, and generally rock a muffin-top look. These pants have a stretchy waistband that clears the curves and rests smoothly and securely at or slightly above the waist. No wedgies. No camel-toe.4. Stylish but Workout Ready. Soft, stretchy, and breathable fabric that looks EXACTLY like denim but feels like athletic knit. They are leggings for sure, and I could easily work out wearing these. But they are perfectly appropriate for streetwear. This is very important to me because I like to always be ready for my daily exercise - I find that if I am ready to work out at a moment's notice, I don't fail to work it into my busy days. I have some "athleisure" gym clothes, but I really don't feel put together when stopping by the store on my way home from the gym. These pants are so stylish looking that I can wear them during my daily activities. They are well-made, with the fake front zipper and fake front pockets - so they have "the look" but not "the bulk" of real denim bluejeans. There are those cool, contrasting orange stitches around the hem for authenticity, back yoke, and operational back pockets. (The Black Pants do not look like denim at all, but appear to be a kind of denim-look knit. The black pants are more like a thicker yoga pant knit.)5. Generous Leg Length. I am 5'8", with most of my height in my long legs. These are ankle pants that hit me at exactly the right spot - just clearing the bottoms of my ankles. Hopefully, they won't shrink because I wouldn't want them any shorter. If they shrink out of size, I'll come back and report that.The cotton-rich fabric content, the soft texture, and the great fit make them a winner.There are a few things to be aware of:1. The fabric is relatively lightweight, so you won't be wearing them for true work. They are super-cheap thin, but they aren't a garment for heavy-duty wear. No gardening, no horseriding, no dog training. These are strictly for the mom-on-the-go, but absolutely not workhorse durability. So bear in mind what they are good for and what they are not good for.2. The smell! Oh My! The terrible, awful smell! I think it will wash out, and if it smells nice coming out of the wash, I'll come back and upgrade my review to a solid 5 stars. As it is right now, I am just hoping I don't get sick from simply trying them on! YIKES!UPDATE: I WASHED THE MEDIUM BLUE ON DELICATE/HEAVY SOIL WITH A PRE-WASH AND SECOND RINSE. I USED WARM WATER FOR THE WASH AND COLD FOR THE RINSE AND I HUNG THEM TO DRY. THE SMELL DID NOT COME OUT, BUT IT DID ABATE ABOUT 50%. I WAS ABLE TO WEAR THEM WITHOUT MY EYES BURNING OR MY SKIN ITCHING. SINCE THEY WERE ON MY LEGS AND NOT NEAR MY FACE, I HARDLY NOTICED THE SMELL AT ALL. I AM GOING TO KEEP THEM BECAUSE I EXPECT THAT THE SMELL WILL ABATE MORE AND MORE WITH EACH WASHING. They did not shrink or lose any shape or color in the wash. (THE BLACK PANTS DID NOT HAVE THAT NOXIOUS SMELL AND ARE FINE RIGHT OUT OF THE PACKAGE. They do have a "new" smell but not a "toxic" smell.)That is my review of the Medium Wash jeans and the Black pants. I hope it helps.I read all the reviews and got the xl , I am 5’8 200 lbs, large around the waist but thinner legs and small butt. They fit pretty loose around my legs. I am going to try to shrink them but otherwise it is a bust.Run big, order down a size. Well made and good material, but I should have ordered a smaller size?I have worn the original Hue denim leggings for two years now. I always had a problem with them slipping down in back. I ordered the curvy fit leggings in black and got them today. They fit perfectly! I am 5'4" and weigh 200 lb, and size XL fits great. They are easy to pull up, no problems getting the waist up over the hips. Once I got them on, they fit like a glove; snug but not uncomfortably tight. Best of all, the waistline is high enough without being too high. Just high enough that I don't have a problem with my jeans slipping down every time I sit down or bend over. Plus, I love the new larger pockets! I like to carry my cell phone wallet in my back pocket, and the pockets on the original Hue denim leggings are too small to be secure. These larger pockets on the curvy jeans are just right. The fabric is very similar to the original Hue denim leggings; thick enough to be called jeans, soft enough to be very comfortable. I wore mine all day the first day with no discomfort whatsoever. Also, they are very easy to tuck inside my UGG boots; in fact, no actual tucking is required because the legs fit slim and snug to my legs all the way down to the ankle. I highly recommend these for the curvy girls out there. Because I like them so much, I ordered two more today in the midnight rinse.I’m an hourglass curvy figure. 14/16 on bottoms. I wear and XL in Target and Daily Ritual leggings for reference. The XL Hue jeggings fit. I’m 5’4” and they fit perfectly right above my ankle. The material is a bit stiff when I tried on. Hoping it softens in the wash and after a few wears. Passed the bend over test and I’d categorize them as mid rise. They fit comfortably over my stomach but I wish they were an inch higher in the back. But I have a shelf for a butt so that’s probably why ? So for $14 I can make ‘em work. I’m on track to lose a pants size by the fall so I think they will be perfect then as a solid 14 instead of a 14/16.I love my Hue Curvy Jean Leggings!! I have a pear shape figure and have the most difficult time finding skinny jeans that fit through my hips but are still skinny on my legs. Also, I have a back injury and can’t stand anything too tight across my back. I was resigned to always wearing leggings. These jean leggings solved all my problems! They are a jean fabric with the stretch of leggings with functional back pockets. They have a mid-rise, a nice, close fit along the entire leg, while at the same time being soooooo comfy!!! They tuck in well to all types of boots and work great for hiking. I followed others reviews and ordered a size up. I am 5’5”, 145 pounds, and normally wear size 12, which should be a Large in these. I was reluctant to order the XL (size 16-18), but they fit perfectly. They come with a strong odor. I washed them twice on the gentle cycle (inside out) then hung them to dry, and they are fine now. I have purchased them in all the colors and will order more. I’ve included photos of the black and blue pairs.Love...love these jean leggings. They are so comfortable and they look like jeans! They are way better than Lees pull up jeans that you have to keep pulling up every time you get up. Will be ordering more colours for sure!Not a good fit for me...gaped at crotch and wide gap in back of waistband. Denim shade is nice though...purchased another Hue pair in a different style but with the same medium denim colour.They feels and look great, they tend to fall a little bit after a while of walking but maybe they're a little too big for me. I would still recommend them to anyone, they fill like jeans but are as comfortable as leggings!These are really form fitting but comfortable and don't gape at the back when you bend. I have since ordered another pair in denim and will order a pair in white.I have bought many Hue leggings before and really like them.These fit well but I was disappointed as they do not look like black demin. I have blue demin Hue leggings and they are great, the black is thin and shiny .. Does not look or feel like demin
