These are a nice pair of pants, but they’re not really jeans. They’re very soft and stretchy, almost like a pair of leggings, although they are thicker and aren't as tight. They’re lightweight and fit like a pair of skinny jeans with a zipper fly & button, rear pockets and belt loops, but the material is very soft & smooth and nothing like denim. The Jen7 line was created for women in the 40s who want a modern pair of jeans in a bit less of a contemporary style. One of the main draws of these jeans are their higher rises, however, they didn’t get it quite right. One of the biggest complaints a lot of older women have about jeans are that the waistbands on the trendier styles tend to gap out in back because they have too low of a rise. In order to prevent jeans from dipping down & gapping in the back, the rise has to be higher in the back than the front, and I’m afraid the rear rise of these jeans just isn’t high enough (at least for me). Although these jeans do have a higher rise with more room in the hips, its not high enough in the back, so they still dip and gap. My waist is much smaller than my hips, so this is a common complaint of mine. The curves of my hips and rear pull the jeans away from my body, so the waistband doesn’t fit comfortably or hug my waistline the way I want my jeans to fit. A higher rise in the back would solve this problem. Because of that, I can only give these jeans an average rating, no matter how comfortable I find the rest of the jean. Maybe one size smaller would fit better in the waist and gap less, but I think they would still dip down in the back (maybe even more than the size 8s do) because there’s just not enough coverage in the back. Other than the fit of the waist, I really like the fit everywhere else. They’re a skinny jean but don’t look like they’re painted on, and the ankle length is actually perfect for a shortie like me!When my wife tried on the Jen 7 Ankle Skinny Jeans all I could say is WOW! These are top of the line pants that deliver on comfort and style. With its sleek fabric and superlative fit, it's hard to imagine any jean being more sumptuous and gorgeously tailored. The designers did a good job keeping curves in mind with its smooth stretch that hugs the form without feeling like it. They are easy to wear and look fabulous with my wife's every move. They feel great from waist to ankle and go with anything and everything.Every inch of these jeans is pure quality. The shiny button looks and feels substantial. With a stretchy waist, they sit nicely above the hips. The stitching is impeccable as is the zipper. The rivets around the pockets provide shiny accents that suggest luxury. The trendy distressed hem is not overdone, rather it adds just the right amount of visual interest that reflect a cool, hip style. It's a good length and make legs shapely and ankles look skinny. The material seems like its of the highest quality. I think these will last a long time. There's a subtle Jen 7 label on the back pocket that is understated and lovely. This brand doesn't need to be overstated because the jean itself suggests precision craftsmanship.I got my wife size 10. She usually wears 8, but 10 works as well. They fit her nicely albeit slightly loose in the derrière. These are true to size and whatever deviation you choose whether sizing up or down, the fabric seems to magically conform to the body and even loosen up the more you wear them. The polyester/cotton/spandex mix is perfectly proportioned to provide maximum fit and comfort that had my wife wanting to wear them all day and into the night. You can live in these jeans and look good doing so.The Jen 7 jeans wash well. My wife air dries them and gives them a quick tumble in dryer. It's an easy wear, easy care garment.~ KortI would go 1-2 sizes down on these jeans. I'm typically a size 10, and a size 8 in these are still a little lose on me. The fabric is very soft, and feels very smooth, beautiful rich black color, good quality cut. If you're on the taller side like myself they will feel a bit short, and hit you above the ankle. Personally I prefer J Brand if I have to pay $150+ for jeans. My really likes these jeans but they run quite large. She normally wears jeans size 0-2 and says the size 2 she received fit more like a size 4. They were big all over - particularly the waist and thighs. Just too big to find some way to make them work. They look great and appear to be good quality, so it's disappointing about the sizing. I suggest ordering 1 or 2 sizes down.Quality white jeans can be tricky to find... They are often "see-through" and these jeans are slightly sheer. You can't see through the back side, but you can easily see the front pockets through the white denim. Not great. I'll only want to wear long, tunic-style shirts with these because I just don't care for that. For the price, I was hoping this wasn't going to be the case. I still gave the jeans four stars because the fit is superb - just stretchy enough for comfort. The hem is a modern "frayed" look which is really cute. The size is a bit on the small side (but have that nice stretch). I got a size 10 and I usually wear an 8. All-in-all, these jeans are super cute - just wish you couldn't see the front pockets! These seem like beautiful pants. The material is soft and smooth. They are comfortable to wear. I just have an issue with my body in them. So I guess I can't rate them low for what they can't control.I wish that they weren't "Ankle Skinny Jeans". This makes my already top heavy, on-the-short-side (5' 5") body look even more disproportionate. The lower legs are actually the loosest part of the jeans, however. I just wish for a few more inches to lengthen my legs. The waist fits okay, a bit snug compared to some size twelves. The zipper works well and the pockets are decently sized. They do seem to pull a bit in the crotch area, so I'd suggest throwing vanity aside and sizing up if you're between sizes or don't like your pants to fit like leggings. I don't get the "size down for best fit", but maybe I'm not the target market.Beautifully made and fabric feel. Worth it if this is the style you're looking for.
