These are a good fit. However, I would never refer to them as leggings, as titled. These are slimmer fit jeans, but the leg openings aren't tight, like in the NYDJ Janice leggings (where I actually had to buy my normal pant size to get them to fit, and not my regular NYDJ size). These fit great, and if you are familiar with NYDJ plus sizing, order the size you normally do for this brand. I'm 5'7, and they go a bit past my ankle. The red is almost a cranberry, so a little different than my computer screen. It's not quite a true lipstick red like I was expecting, but it's close enough. I do like them. I'm very glad I got them on sale, because the regular price is pretty expensive and I don't think I'd ever pay that much for them.My first pair on NYDJ was this Style and Wash purchased at a High End retailer in downtown Boston. I have worn them so much over the last three years, when I found these on Amazon, I had to order a second pair. I love them, and this particular pair was reached for more and more in my closet until I realized we ladies do deserve wonderful jeans, and I have purchased at least a dozen more different styles and color options since these came into my life! The Alina style feels like a firmer version of your most favorite black leggings, but they are some heavy duty jeans. Yes, you need to order a size down. They go with your every move. You can literally exercise and do squats in these jeans. FYI, the front pockets are sewn shut, another words, they are faux front pockets. But the back pockets are perfect!I really liked the dark denim for work. I could have sized down one but tend to like a little larger so it looks more work appropriate. I wish they sold more petite in the plus sizes, because I love this brand but they are always too long. I am 5’5.I am a huge NYDJ's fan!! I love how they fit and stretch with your body motion. My mother introduced me to them and I was hesitant to purchase at 130.00. But I did and never looked back since. So now that Amazon carries them (and you can get them much cheaper) I have bought from this site numerous times. I own at least 8 pairs of NYDJ. I highly recommend them. They last and worth the money. And just love how they move with your body. No choking in the tummy area or waist.I ordered these in a W because I seem to be in between sizes and the last pair of NYDJ (in regular size) were a little tight. This were too big for me, but that is my fault, not theirs. I like the wash and feel of the fabric. They are not really leggings, more like straight cut - I can wear them over boots (although they are a little snug at the calf with a full boot).Love the stretch and glove-like fit. Fabric does stretch a little after a long day, but still very comfy.I have been purchasing NYDJ for a good while now, and I have even called THEIR customer service regarding the lack of consistency on their sizing. They told me it was due to the jeans being made by different people, basically human error. Seems like there would be quality control? I have ordered and returned many times for Marilyn jeans, yet I will occasionally find 2 pair back to back that fit. Looks like this style is the same way. Love the jeans, wish they could get the sizing down...I love the material of these jeans. They are sooo soft. They did run a little large in the waist but that's something I experience with alot of the plus size clothing I buy. Other than the waist, I really like these jeans and the sale price was amazing!
